As an initial response to being invited to participate in 24 Spaces and Malmö Nordic 2013 – which was from what Tidens Krav understood, a celebration of the Nordic, and further a celebration of the Nordic social democracy – Tidens Krav figured that not only should we celebrate the Nordic, we should also celebrate the celebration of the Nordic. In this respect, a 1:200 scale cake-replica of Malmö Konsthall was made. But as regulations prohibited food and other types of refreshments inside the Konsthall, any potential cake consumption had to be kept to strictly within our designated "space". A solid red line on the floor signaled the final frontier of cake consumption, a guard on duty kept everyone in line, and signs informed spectators of the rules of conduct.
As an additive to the celebration, Tidens Krav presented Poetry in Pottery, a work consisting of a water-cooler filled with 15 liters of Vodka (Poetry) and a big pile of Ikea cups (Pottery). But due to alcohol regulations Tidens Krav were not allowed to serve any, resulting in a sign on the cooler saying exactly that: "closed due to alcohol regulations". Consumption of alcohol was under no circumstances to take place inside the Konsthall. Nevertheless, just a couple of minutes after the inauguration speech, the spectators were ignoring the sign and helping themselves to some Poetry in Pottery. The Danes were especially eager. After a brief 30 minutes of bliss, an outraged director spotted the irregularity. The security guard was forcefully relieved from his duty as a cake guard, and reassigned to serve as the guardian of the water-cooler, and the health and well-being of the people.
